I get asked nearly daily, “Where can I meet a good guy?!” My answer is always the same: Trader Joe’s between 7-8pm. And every time, I am responded to with a crooked and confused look, followed by a, “Huh?” Daters often think that the only place to meet a guy is where the alcohol is flowing and the heels are high. But it just isn’t so. We talk a lot about having dating peripheral vision and my book lists countless great ways to meet great men, but the very best places are usually right where you are – your local post office, standing in line waiting for a latte, picking up your dry cleaning. Top of my list though is Trader Joes, Whole Foods or any other grocery store with a prepared foods aisle. Why? Because single working guys typically don’t cook for themselves. After work, maybe they hit a happy hour or the gym, but then it is straight to one of these markets to pick up some teriyaki chicken, a pesto pizza or a chef salad. You have to shop anyway, so why not shop on their time and make this your new happy hour!
